Riyadh: Six people have been arrested for trying to smuggle stimulant pills into Saudi Arabia while hiding in machine parts. This was reported by the Directorate General of Narcotics Control. A spokesman for the Maj. Mohammed al-Nujaidi said that 4,56,000 pills had been found hidden in the elevator’s machine parts and equipment, and that the smuggling attempt had failed after security forces conducted a series of searches to find the drug network.

Two of the arrested suspects are Saudi nationals. The other defendants are three Egyptian nationals and a Syrian national. They were arrested in Riyadh and Jeddah. The accused were handed over to the public prosecution. Al-Juaidi, a spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry, said that the security forces were working with the Zakat Tax and Customs Authority to find the culprits behind the drug bust and crack down on anti-social elements.
