Riyadh: The e-Commerce Council has announced that those doing business in Saudi Arabia must obtain commercial registration. This is to ensure that their activities continue in accordance with the rights of the customers. Commercial registration is available at http://e.mc.gov.sa
If you need a license from other departments to start an online business, you need to complete the steps. Council officials said the new decision was aimed at enhancing the credibility of e-commerce transactions, protecting consumer-merchant rights and eliminating counterfeit stores. The commercial registration was made mandatory in the context of the Ministry of Commerce’s attention to cases of non-compliance and violation of consumer rights and fraud and deception of some stores which do not have commercial records.
