Chametz eradication commandment – a number of fire centers in Haifa
Fire and Rescue delivered to Haifa – News Corporation:
As of this morning (Friday, April 15, 2015), the firefighters from the Haifa station have been working in a number of fires that broke out as a result of the observance of the chametz eradication in preparation for Passover.
There are currently no significant incidents or damage to life and property.
For everyone who observes the holiday mitzvah and burns chametz, we reiterate our call to take all safety measures:
- Do not use flammable liquids such as gasoline, diesel, etc.
- Do not burn chametz without adult supervision.
- The chametz should be burned in an isolated place without power cables or vehicles that could be damaged.
- Extinguishing media such as water or a fire extinguisher should be kept nearby to prevent spread in case of loss of control.
