CHA Expands Western Footprint with Acquisition of California’s FALCON Engineering Services
California’s infrastructure sector is poised for further growth as CHA Holdings, Inc. announced its acquisition of FALCON Engineering Services, Inc. on June 24, 2025. The move marks CHA’s first foray into the California market and significantly expands its capabilities in project management and construction management within the state’s dynamic transportation landscape.
Strategic Expansion into a Key Market
According to a company release, the acquisition of Temecula-based FALCON represents a “milestone addition” to CHA, a national engineering, design, consulting, and construction management firm. FALCON, with a team of over 60 professionals, brings deep expertise in construction inspection and a strong reputation for client-focused solutions across Southern California.
“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our value creation strategy for growth and expansion into the western region of the U.S.,” stated a senior official at CHA Holdings, Inc. “Establishing a presence in Southern California allows CHA to serve clients in one of the nation’s largest and most dynamic infrastructure-intensive markets.”
Synergies and Growth Opportunities
The integration of FALCON into CHA is expected to create significant synergies, benefiting both clients and employees. “We see significant synergies with our two companies coming together – benefiting clients with additional expertise and deep resources while providing our combined staff with greater career growth opportunities,” the CHA official added. FALCON will operate as FALCON, A CHA Company, effective immediately.
The founders of FALCON expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “Our firms share the same values and commitment to technical excellence, client service, and employee engagement and development,” said Maha and Wael Faqih. “With strong regional knowledge, long-standing client relationships, and a proven track record in delivering complex transportation projects, our strengths will now be enhanced through CHA’s national platform and extensive technical resources.”
Meeting Growing Demand in California
The acquisition comes at a time of increasing demand for project and construction management services, particularly within California’s transportation sector. “The demand for project and construction management services continues to grow, particularly in the California transportation sector, and CHA is well-positioned to meet that demand and support our clients’ evolving needs,” noted Phil Stevens, CHA Infrastructure Sector President.
The need for safe and sustainable mobility, resilient transportation systems, and smart infrastructure planning is driving significant opportunities for growth and innovation in the state. CHA, now ranked as the 63rd largest engineering firm in the U.S. by ENR, is poised to capitalize on these trends.
With the addition of FALCON’s team, CHA’s total staff now exceeds 2,000 professionals across more than 45 offices throughout the U.S. and Canada. Morrissey-Goodale advised CHA on the transaction, while Marshall Stevens served as an advisor to FALCON.
This strategic acquisition underscores CHA’s commitment to expanding its reach and delivering comprehensive infrastructure solutions to clients nationwide.
