Las Vegas Police Shooting: Three Suspects in Custody Face Attempted Murder Charges

A late-night exchange of gunfire in North Las Vegas has led to the arrest of three individuals and left one person in critical condition. Lazavion Payne,19; Calvin Richards,24; and Daiveon Stone,29,are now facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, following a police shooting that unfolded Sunday night.

Initial Investigation and Pursuit

The incident began as an investigation into a drive-by shooting that occurred earlier Sunday morning. According to court records, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers were alerted to two vehicles believed to be connected to the initial shooting, locating them near the intersection of Lone mountain Road and Scott Robinson Boulevard.

As officers initiated surveillance, individuals inside one of the vehicles allegedly opened fire on the pursuing police cars, striking two vehicles. An officer returned fire as the suspects attempted to flee the scene.

Arrests and Court Appearances

following a pursuit, police successfully located both vehicles and detained all occupants. Two individuals were transported to a local hospital, with one listed in critical condition. Lazavion Payne and Daiveon Stone made their initial appearances in North Las Vegas Justice Court on Tuesday morning. Judge Robert Walsh determined there was probable cause to hold them in custody. Calvin Richards remains hospitalized and was unable to appear in court.

All three suspects are scheduled to return to court on Thursday, June 26, to address the charges against them. Court documents indicate they each face a range of offenses beyond attempted murder.
