On the first day of Chithirai, on the eve of the Tamil New Year and the unveiling of the Bharathiyar statue, Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi hosted a tea party for Tamil Nadu political parties. The Chief Minister, Ministers and Members of the Legislature were summoned from the House of Governors. First, the Marxist Communist Party announced that it would boycott it. Following that, all parties in the DMK alliance, such as the VCK, the Humanist People’s Party, the Communist Party of India and the MDMK, boycotted the tea party. The reason given was that the governor had boycotted the banquet in order to condemn the governor for lying, without even sending a second-round resolution on NEET to the president.
Ministers Thangam Thennarasu and Ma Subramaniam went directly to the Governor and told him that they would boycott the tea party on behalf of the DMK and the Tamil Nadu government as it would bring disrepute if the DMK alone attended, to ignore all the coalition parties.
According to AIADMK organizing secretary Jayakumar, the AIADMK will not ignore anyone who ignores them. Participated in the tea party. State President Annamalai, Vanathi Srinivasan and Khushboo on behalf of the Tamil Nadu BJP and its leader GK Vasan on behalf of the Tamil State Congress were present.
