When one of two home AC units failed during a recent heat wave, the EcoFlow Wave 3 was put to the test. As an upgrade to the Wave 2,this portable unit features Auto,dehumidify,sleep,and Pet modes. Real-World Testing
The Wave 3 was tested over several weeks, proving notably useful in a home office that tends to overheat in summer. By venting the exhaust through an existing wall opening, the unit effectively lowered the room’s temperature by nearly 20 degrees in under an hour. It maintained the set temperature while powered on, with the battery lasting up to two hours in Max mode or eight hours in Eco mode.

Cooling a Playroom During a Heat Wave
The Wave 3 was repurposed to cool a kids’ playroom and a bedroom during a heat wave, after the upstairs AC unit failed. With outdoor temperatures at 102 degrees, the top floor reached 93 degrees. The goal was to make the playroom,which had climbed to 90 degrees,habitable again for the children during their summer break.
The Wave 3 was set up in the playroom, with foam cut to fit the window and accommodate the inlet and exhaust ducts. This setup successfully reduced the room’s temperature from 86 to 75 degrees. The inlet duct drew in fresh air, while the exhaust vented hot air, and a drain line released condensation.
