The violent disturbances took place in the shadow of the tension on the Temple Mount. As you may recall, hundreds were arrested yesterday on the Temple Mount by security forces after throwing stones, objects and fireworks at police.
At the same time, hundreds of rioters barricaded themselves inside the mosque and large police forces broke in to get them out and away from the mountain. During the clashes, three policemen were lightly injured, and two of them were evacuated for medical treatment.
