Russia: Putin congratulates Jewish communities and emissaries on a holiday

As every holiday eve, today too the President of Russia sent Vladimir Putin A congratulatory letter to the Jews of Russia, through the Chief Rabbinate of Russia Burl Lazar. In his letter, Putin congratulates the Jewish communities across the country and especially the emissaries.

In his letter, Putin writes:

“To the Jews of Russia. I greet you wholeheartedly on the occasion of Passover. It is an ancient and especially precious holiday for Jews, and it describes important historical events, turning religious people to the religious and cultural tradition of the Jewish people, a tradition passed down from generation to generation with care and respect.

“I must note with satisfaction the great contribution of Jewish organizations in the development of our country, in strengthening the spiritual and moral foundations of society in Russia, in promoting the fruitful dialogue of different peoples and different religions. The Jewish community in Russia is actively involved in educating the younger generation.” Charity. This ramified work is most needed by the public and it deserves great recognition and appreciation. I wish the holiday would bring happiness, understanding and well-being to their homes.

Ahead of the Passover holiday, all Jewish communities in all Russian cities were held in honor of the holiday and many resources were invested in distributing reserved matzah, Seder kits, food baskets and helping each Daqfin, along with public rites and all spiritual and physical help to state Jews, by hundreds of rabbis and emissaries scattered throughout Russia.
