ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – More than 800 aspiring athletes are converging at Highmark Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills, for the 37th annual Jim Kelly Football Camp. This esteemed program offers young participants a unique opportunity to train on a professional field, learning not just football skills but crucial life lessons.

The camp, designed for children ages 8 to 13, is structured into two three-day sessions. One session, which began earlier this week, is already sold out, underscoring the enduring popularity of the program. However, limited spots remain for a second session beginning later this week, running daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More Than Just Youth Football

While the thrill of playing on the same turf as NFL stars is a significant draw, Kelly, the camp’s founder, consistently emphasizes its broader mission. “Each and every year I look forward to my football camp. I am truly humbled to have over 800 kids participate,” Kelly stated ahead of the camp’s start. “The Bills organization has been amazing, and we truly appreciate our relationship with them. The kids are thrilled to experience playing on the same field as the Buffalo Bills.”

The former NFL quarterback’s vision extends far beyond athletic prowess. The camp aims to foster significant personal growth, focusing on character development and imparting vital life lessons.

Building Character and Friendships

Kelly has long championed the idea that the camp provides a foundation for more than just football acumen. “Not only do we teach them about football, but we also teach life lessons, and friendships are made that sometimes last a lifetime at the camp. It is awesome,” Kelly remarked. This commitment to holistic development distinguishes the program, ensuring children gain valuable skills for both on and off the field.

Reflecting on previous years, Kelly underscored this foundational philosophy: “You’ve got to enjoy yourself and learn something when you leave here, knowing it made you a better person and a better player.” He further elaborated on the program’s impact, stating, “They don’t just learn about football. they learn about life. They learn about the right kids to hang out with, so I do what I do to make a difference.”

The camp remains a beacon for youth football enthusiasts, blending elite training with a profound dedication to mentorship and personal enrichment. Further details about the program can be found on the Jim Kelly Football Camp website.
