Basel, July 12, 2025 – A resounding 130,000 spectators thrilled to the spectacle of the Basel Tattoo’s military music parade on Saturday afternoon, a vibrant display of precision and artistry. The event brought together performers from across Switzerland and around the globe, including all Swiss military music formations.
Parade Returns to City Streets After Years
The Basel Tattoo parade marched through the heart of the city for the first time in several years, delighting residents and visitors alike.
For the first time in a few years, the parade route wound its way through the Free Street, past the iconic town hall, and over the Middle Bridge, ultimately leading to the exhibition center in Kleinbasel. The return to this traditional path added a special energy to the event, allowing more people to experience the music and pageantry up close.
International Acts Shine
Beyond the local ensembles, the parade featured captivating performances by the Musique de l’Artillerie from France and the precision drills of the Papal Swiss Guard. These international contributions underscored the Basel Tattoo’s reputation as a global celebration of military music.
Prior to the parade, President of the President Conradin Cramer extended a warm welcome to all the band leaders participating in the BASEL tattoo at an official reception held in the town hall. The gathering served as a gesture of appreciation for the dedication and skill of the musicians.
