Among those films dubbed for me was Idavela Babu: Vineeth

Apart from acting, Vineeth Radhakrishnan is an actor who is very active in the field of dubbing. He often gives voice to his own characters and to other artists.

Vineeth won the Kerala State Award for Best Dubbing Artist for his dubbing of Bobby as Vivek Oberoi in Lucifer. In the early days, he was voiced by other dubbing artists in the films he acted in. He later became active in the dubbing industry.

Vineeth talks about how he was given the voice of Idavela Babu in some movies.

‘Many of my films have been dubbed by Krishna Chandrasekhar. Nandu dubbed Rahman’s voice in Padmarajan’s films. Similarly Interval Babu has dubbed for me. It was dubbed by Idavela Babu in Aravindettan’s place and in his grandmother’s story.

In the scene with Pappu Vettanu, Babu asked what was going on and where was the beating. P. I dubbed in G Vishwambharan Sir’s film Ponnu. It’s my own voice. Ashoketan was the hero and I was the second hero. After the prostration, I dubbed it, ‘said Vineet.

‘Fazil Sara gave me basic training in dubbing. If I could dub for any other artist today, its basic blessing would have been a training of Pachika.

Pachika dubbed me for about eight to ten days in the movie Manathe Vellitheru. It was amazing that a director as talented as him at the time did so. That’s it.

Pachika spent a lot of time telling me how to modulate the sound and how to control the breathing. Also, during the dubbing of Manatham Vellitheru, Pachika teaches me how to bring the base to the voice. He gave me the confidence that I could do it, ‘Vineet added.
