Lingering showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to persist into the evening, prompting caution for flooded roadways. A Flood Watch is in effect for Muskingum, Guernsey, Noble, Morgan, Perry, and Athens counties until 2 a.m.

Saturday is an ALERT DAY, with strong to severe thunderstorms anticipated. Excessive rainfall, winds exceeding 60 mph, and large hail are likely, with a possibility of isolated tornadoes. The strongest storms are expected late in the evening and into the overnight hours.

Weekend Flooding Concerns Persist

Showers and thunderstorms are set to continue through Sunday. The ground is already saturated from recent rainfall, heightening flood concerns through the weekend. A cold front will eventually sweep through, bringing cooler and drier air.

Weather Outlook:

  • Saturday (ALERT DAY): Strong to severe thunderstorms, humid, high of 84.
  • Sunday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, seasonable, high of 84.
