Chennai: The Chennai Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in Salem, Namakkal, Trichy and Perambalur districts.

Chennai Meteorological Center Director Senthamarai Kannan said in a statement that light to moderate rain with thundershowers will occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal today (Apr. 18) due to downward circulation and heat wave over the coastal areas of northern Tamil Nadu.
