Understanding the 2025 Men’s Volleyball Nations League
The VNL commenced on Wednesday, June 11, and is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, August 3. This global competition features 18 teams, with Rio de Janeiro serving as one of the host cities.
The participating men’s teams in the 2025 VNL include Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cuba, Slovenia, the United States, France, the Netherlands, Iran, Italy, Japan, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
The Chinese team, as a host of the qualifiers, automatically secures a place in the knockout stage. If China doesn’t finish within the top eight, only the top seven teams will proceed to the next stage, taking place from July 30 to August 3.
Furthermore, this final week will determine which team faces relegation. The team finishing last in the standings will not compete in the next VNL season, making way for another national selection.
