Auckland police are still actively searching for three young people who vanished from a youth home earlier this month.
Three youths remain missing from an Auckland facility.
Youths still unaccounted for
Oranga Tamariki confirmed on Wednesday that the trio, who left a community-based remand home on July 8, are still missing. The agency was alerted by a contracted provider after their departure.
“Oranga Tamariki continues to work closely with police to locate these young people,” a spokesperson stated.
Custody status of missing youths
Two of the three individuals were on remand. The third youth was under a care and protection custody order.
Police confirmed they are still conducting their search and are collaborating with Oranga Tamariki as part of their ongoing investigation. Authorities stated, “For legal reasons we cannot release further information about these young people.”
