The 33rd round of the Italian league continued tonight (Monday) with a dramatic 1: 1 between Napoli and Rome, a draw that hurt both, but especially the Blues who lost precious points in the triple championship match in Serie A. Now, the gap between Napoli and AC Milan is 4 points while Inter with two points more than the third and also with one game missing.
So why dramatic? Napoli were already on their way to victory, but a late goal by Stefan al-Sharawi a minute into extra time set up a points distribution. Lorenzo Insigne scored the hosts’ early advantage in the 11th minute, but as mentioned, they failed to double the advantage and finish the game.
Jose Mourinho’s Roma, for their part, have scored a precious point in the battle for a ticket to Europe – at this stage of the season they have 58 points in fifth place, which leads to the home stage of the Europa League. The guest, who has been impressive lately, is 5 points from fourth-placed Juventus and with 2 points more than sixth-placed Lazio.
