‘I have become Pakka Gujarati’: Modi names World Health Organization President
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted the request of World Health Organization President Tetros Adenom and named him the new Gujarati.
World Health Organization (WHO) Director Tetros Adanom Capriases is staying in Gujarat to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for a traditional medicine center in Gujarat.

Tetros Adanom with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the International AYUSH Investment and Innovation Seminar in Gandhinagar today. Then, to Narendra Modi, I became a Pakka Gujarati. He eagerly asked me to give him a name in Gujarati. To which Prime Minister Modi said that I am very happy to call you Tulsibai.
Following this, Prime Minister Modi explained to him how the people of the country have traditionally worshiped the basil plant.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said, “The head of the World Health Organization has always been a best friend of mine. He would always say, I have been taught by many Indian teachers. It is because of them that I am here today. Today he told me, I have become a Pakka Gujarati. He asked me to put a name in Gujarati. That is why I like to call him by the Gujarati name Tulsibai. Basil is an herb that the present generation has forgotten about. We have been worshiping it for many generations. Basil is also used in weddings. That is why he said you are with us today.
Prime Minister Modi also announced that the AYUSH Visa service will soon be launched for those who want to come to the country and seek treatment under traditional medicine.
