Riyadh: Family visits for foreigners with multiple visas in Saudi Arabia are finding it difficult to renew online. Many expatriate families were in crisis with this. But the Directorate of Saudi Passport (Jawzat) has come up with a solution. The Saudi Directorate of Javasat has suggested that those who have problems extending their visa through the Interior Ministry’s online platform ‘Abshir’ can avail the ‘Tawassul’ service on the same platform.
Javasat also said that the issue of extending family visit visas would be resolved through the direct contact of the Tawasul service. In the last few days, many users have complained that they are not able to complete the family visit visa extension process through Abshir. They complained that despite several attempts through Abshir, the family visit visa could not be extended. They said the visa could not be extended for no apparent reason. Javasat said a message should be sent to the Javasat Directorate through the Tawasul service clarifying the issues facing completing the family visit visa extension process.
The Javasat Directorate said that the service should be availed by logging into their account on the Abshir Individuals platform and selecting New Request, Sector and Services after clicking on Service, My Services, Passport and Tawasul respectively. The Directorate said that the beneficiaries should abide by the visa requirements and leave the country before the expiry date to avoid any problems as the visit visa extension may be hampered.
