The Haval X-Dog crossover, which has collected good press after the open presentation of a demonstration model of the car at the Shanghai Motor Show last spring, is confidently heading for industrial production. The Chinese edition of Autohome has published patent images of the Haval X-Dog as the car will hit the market.
X-Dog belongs to the category of full-size models, in the product hierarchy it will rise one step above the Big Dog model. It is endowed with a laconic exterior with angular shapes and simple lines. The headlights, like the Big Dog, tend to be round. Body type – a five-door station wagon. The front door handles are retractable (like Tesla), the rear ones are hidden in the corners of the window frames. The body has a two-tone paint scheme with a graphic highlighting of the roof.
The interior of the serial X-Dog is not yet ready, but it will hardly differ radically from the demonstration prototype, and unlike the exterior, which will make anyone believe in the extraordinary potential of the car on the road, the interior immediately gives out another modern crossover.
The full-size crossover will be powered by a “plug-in hybrid” system around a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine. It also assumes a conventional petrol modification with a 2.0-liter unit and a 7-speed preselective “robot”. The production version of the Haval X-Dog is due out in 2022.
