T. Rama Rao (83), who directed 70 films in Telugu and Hindi and produced several hit films in Tamil, passed away in Chennai on Wednesday.
Ava has directed many films in Telugu including Navratri, Jeevan Tharangalu, Brahmachari, Alumagalu, Yamakola, Pachani Kapuram. Entering Hindi cinema in 1979, she worked with leading actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Govinda. He is proud to have introduced Rajinikanth in Hindi with the film ‘Anthakanoon’.
At Sri Lakshmi Productions’ Chowdhury Dil, Youth, Arul, Unakkum Enakkum, Malaikottai and other well-received films were produced by Eva. Eva was also the Chairman of Madras Hydraulic Hose Pvt.
He is survived by his wife Datineni Jayasree, daughters Chamundeeswari and Naga Susila and a son Ajay. Ramara’s funeral was held in Chennai on Wednesday.
