The show made her famous – now she’s scouting for talent herself!
Sarah Engels (29) returns to the beginning of her career and becomes a guest judge on “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. There she took second place in the casting show over a decade ago.
And DSDS not only helped her career in 2011 and was the beginning of her music career. She also found happiness in love there. Sarah was in the final with her partner at the time, singer Pietro Lombardi (29), who eventually won the show.
The couple married after the show and had son Alessio (6), their marriage broke up in 2016. Since then, the two have taken care of Alessio together and show how a patchwork family works.

Sarah is happy with her new husband Julian Büscher, her daughter Solea was born in December 2021. Pietro is currently solo – and just celebrated his musical wedding Katja Krasavice.
So Sarah can not only give the candidates tips for the live shows, but also for love! After all, something was already in the offing for two candidates in 2022…
In the live show on Saturday, the new DSDS couple Din (24) and Tina (23) also compete against each other. You are following in the footsteps of the Lombardis and could benefit from Sarah’s tips on love at a casting show.
How do you balance love and competition? For that, the season eight runner-up can certainly give the couple some advice.
Incidentally, Sarah is following in the footsteps of her ex-husband Pietro with her jury work – he evaluated new talents alongside Dieter Bohlen & Co. for two seasons and gave his successors tips about the casting cosmos.
And maybe ex-husband Pietro will also turn on on Saturday when Sarah changes sides for the first time next to chief juror Florian Silbereisen. In any case, she should be understanding – after all, she knows best what it’s like to be on the big stage of the live shows.
