Wines can be described in a similar way by connoisseurs – and yet differ greatly in quality. Because even critics have their own personal preferences and points of view.
Gs assuming you are a buyer of the finest Bordeaux. As a connoisseur, you naturally subscribe to these wines first, i.e. at an embryonic age of six to eight months, and with this pre-financing they hope to get a better price than what they would have to pay if the finished wine was delivered two years later. Because no wine lover can taste his favorites from the barrel in April, he relies on the judgment of his specialist retailer and the international trade press.
This is currently on the road in Bordeaux to appraise the 2021s, which will not come onto the markets until 2024. The first evaluations and dealer offers will follow by May at the latest, the prices of which depend on the quality of the vintage, the reputation of the châteaux and the expected demand.
