A fire broke out this morning in a boat in the middle of the sea between Ashdod and Ashkelon, in which two people were injured, one of them in critical condition. The two were brought to the marina in Ashkelon, from where they were evacuated to Barzilai Hospital

At 07:11, a report was received at MDA’s 101 hotline in the Lachish area about 2 wounded from a fire in a deep-sea vessel that were rescued to a marina in Ashkelon. Burns in the upper body and another wounded in a light condition.

MDA paramedic Aviya Malka said: “The two wounded who were seriously and lightly injured suffered burns to their upper body. They were rescued to us from the depths of the sea with the help of a naval police boat while fully conscious. We provided them with primary medical care in the field, which included fluids and painkillers, and evacuated them for further treatment at the hospital. “

The Barzilai Medical Center said: “The seriously injured man is suffering from burns to his face at a severe level, is currently being resuscitated in the emergency room. The other wounded man is in a light condition with minor burns on his hands.”
