Israeli singer Elkana Marciano, received a surprising offer overseas but refused – the reason: keeping the Sabbath holy. Marciano, who previously collaborated with Walid al-Jassim the singer from Dubai on the duet ‘Hello Bich’ which became a cross-continental hit that made headlines around the world.

Following the successful duet, a special connection was established between Marciano and the Emirates, where he has performed several times before and even became the first Israeli singer to be invited to perform in the Emirates.

Now as mentioned, Marciano has received a surprising offer to perform at the Dubai Congress Center – a venerable hall where leading singers from the Emirates and from all over the world perform. For the show, he was offered a sum of about NIS 250,000 per show.

Marciano and his managers who take care not to perform on Shabbat were forced to refuse the very respectful and tempting offer in order not to desecrate the Shabbat.

On behalf of singer Elkana Marciano, Shabbat Square was told: “As a believer, I know that everything that happens is for the better. I believe that good things will come later! Happy holiday.”
