Dubai: Federal government employees in the UAE have been given a nine-day holiday in connection with the Eid al-Fitr. The holiday is announced from April 30 to May 6. As the seventh and eighth dates are Saturday and Sunday, the employees will get a total of nine days off.
Earlier, it was announced that the holiday would be on May 1 for the third day and May 2 for the festival. But according to the new announcement, the festival will be closed till May 6 on any day. Private companies will get four or five days leave as announced earlier. Government employees in Sharjah will also be able to resume their post-holiday working day on May 9.

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has announced a short Eid holiday for the private sector. A four-day holiday has been announced for the private sector.
The holiday is announced from Sunday, May 1 to May 4. April 30 (Ramadan 29) will be the last working day. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced that offices and institutions will reopen on May 5 after the holidays.
