Power Minister Senthilpalaji has assured that there will be no talk of a power outage in Tamil Nadu in a day or two

There have been frequent power outages in many parts of Tamil Nadu for the past two days. Power outages occur in various parts of Tamil Nadu especially at night for more than 2 hours. With the summer sun now shining, the general public is suffering due to such unannounced power cuts.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai today, Power Minister Senthil Balaji said that the reason for the power shortage was the non-availability of 716 MW of power from the central pool to Tamil Nadu.

While Tamil Nadu needs 72,000 tonnes of coal per day to generate electricity, the shortage of coal is the reason for not being able to generate enough electricity to meet the demand.

Is the Central Government responsible for the power outage in Tamil Nadu? Annamalai Answer

Criticizing the BJP state leader for presenting half-hearted views on the power shortage in Annamalai Tamil Nadu, the minister said that Annamalai should explain the current power shortage in the BJP-ruled states, including Gujarat and Karnataka.

Tenders have been called for the import of coal from abroad for a period of two months to meet the electricity demand of Tamil Nadu and the two companies have been confirmed. Steps have also been taken to procure an additional 550 MW of electricity from neighboring states.

In that regard, Minister Senthilpalaji has assured that there will be no talk of a power outage in Tamil Nadu in a couple of days.
