Palakkad: Three more persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of Palakkad RSS leader Sreenivasan (Sreenivasan Murder). The natives were arrested at Shankhuvaram. Those involved in the conspiracy and those who brought the vehicle were taken into police custody. One of them had reached the upper room just as he was walking.

With this, the number of people arrested in the Srinivasan murder case has increased to ten. Meanwhile, three people, including Imam Saddam Hussein, who was arrested yesterday in connection with the case, will be produced in court today. Saddam Hussein, the mosque’s imam, was arrested on suspicion of plotting to assassinate one of the suspects. The identification parade of the three remand prisoners in the Zubair murder case is not over yet.

The mobile phone of one of the killers was found in the church the previous day with a conch shell. An auto rickshaw carrying the weapon and three bikes of the accused were taken into custody. Defendants allege that the plot for revenge began in the graveyard near the mortuary on Friday night when Zubair was killed. The murder plot took place behind the district hospital. According to the statement, the accused had gathered on the night of the 15th on Khabarsthan Road behind the mortuary and had decided to take revenge for Zubair’s murder.

Meanwhile, the ban in Palakkad district will continue till April 24, the district collector said. Srinivasan, a former RSS corporal punishment leader, was also killed in Melamuri after Popular Front activist Zubair was stabbed to death on Vishu Day. With this, a ban was announced throughout the district. The ban, which was announced on April 16, has now been extended in view of the possible sectarian tensions following the killings and the possible disturbance of law and order.
