Palakkad: Sreenivasan Murder Case: Another person has been arrested following the news of the arrest of two persons in the murder case of Palakkad RSS leader Srinivasan this morning. With this, the number of people arrested in this case today is three.
Rish, a native of Parakkunnam, who has now prepared a list of those to be killed, has been arrested. There were three people on the list prepared by him. The slain Srinivasan was one of them. Six people were directly involved in the murder.

One more arrest was made following earlier reports that there would be more arrests in the case today. Iqbal, who was directly involved in the murder, was earlier arrested by the police. The vehicle used by him at the time of the murder was also found. Police also found that the group was escorted by a Pope in a Maruti car.
Iqbal, a member of the Aranga murder gang, was arrested during a police raid on SDPI and Popular Front centers in Palakkad district in recent days. Evidence obtained by the police suggests that the Popular Front activists had hatched an elaborate plan to assassinate Srinivasan. It is alleged that the accused were given shelter in mosques.

The auto carrying the weapon used in the killing, the accused’s mobile phone and vehicles were seized from the vicinity of the mosque on Saturday. Apart from this, it is reported that the accused were given shelter here.
The political assassination in Palakkad started on Vishu day. Zubair, an SDPI activist, was hacked to death in front of his father on his way back from church. The next day, Srinivasan, an RSS activist, was hacked to death in a shop.
