Malappuram: The semi-final line-up of the Santosh Trophy football championship. Kerala, the Group A champions, will take on Group B runners-up Karnataka in the first semi-final on April 28 at the Manjeri Payyanad Stadium. Manipur, the runners-up in Group B, will take on West Bengal, the runners-up in Group B, in the second semi-final on April 29 at 8.00 pm at Payyanad Stadium.
Kerala qualified for the semi-finals unbeaten in the group stage. The team has three wins and a draw. Meghalaya drew Kerala. Kerala qualified for the semi – finals by defeating Rajasthan by five goals in the first match, Bengal by two wickets in the second match and Punjab by two goals to one in the final. Captain Jijo Joseph is the team’s top scorer. Jijo Joseph scored five goals in four games, including a hat-trick.
