Strauss’ recall operation: The Ministry of Health updated tonight (Tuesday) the results of the laboratory test performed on the finished products of the Strauss company. The announcement stated that Salmonella has also been found in products – and not just in raw materials.
“It is clarified that all of these products are part of the initiated return that has already been made by the manufacturer. The Ministry of Health conducted an audit throughout the day in which a number of additional testing actions were performed, after which the next steps will be decided,” they said. However, the ministry was quick to emphasize that “the answers received are in products that are in the factory and not products that are on the market” and added that the company will continue to update on further findings.

Earlier today, Strauss CEO, Eyal DrorReleased a video announcing that alongside the company’s activities in dealing with the current crisis in light of the extensive product collection, the company will allow all customers to receive double compensation for purchased chocolate products.
“In the last day, we are in dialogue with you consumers and try to address all your concerns,” he said in his opening remarks. “I listen to you and am aware of the mental anguish and would like to update that along with all the efforts we make in dealing with the incident, every customer or customer who contacts us – will receive double compensation for the chocolate products purchased.”
In addition, he clarified that he is aware of the long waiting times at customer service centers and clarified that these will be increased. “We will return to all applicants even if it takes us a few days,” he stressed. “I would like to update that we are waiting for the results of the laboratory tests and when we receive them – we will update you. We take responsibility for the incident and do everything to return our products to the shelves,” Dror concluded.
Earlier this week, Strauss announced that routine inspections at Elite’s chocolate factory revealed a number of samples with salmonella at the factory’s production line and chocolate used as a raw material to make products. The company stated that the food service at the Ministry of Health was updated immediately and in coordination with it and out of a concern for the health of the products, the company decided to recall all the chocolate products suspected of being contaminated.
