The search committee today elected Yigal Klein as secretary general of Bnei Akiva in place of Yair Shahal, who completed a 7-year term.
Klein is currently the movement’s deputy secretary general, immigrated to Israel from France at the age of two. He is a graduate of the Shavei Hebron yeshiva and lives in the Ma’ale Hever community.
In doing so, Klein joins a list of past secretaries: Rabbi Bnei Nachtiler, Danny Hirschberg, Moti Yogev, Rabbi Yonah Goodman, Yossi Shapira, Elhanan Galt and Avraham Lifshitz.
MK Ofir Sofer (Religious Zionism) congratulates the appointment: “Congratulations to Legal Klein on his election as Secretary General of the Bnei Akiva Youth Movement, replacing Yair Shahal, who is completing a long and blessed period in the movement.
