A fire broke out at the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Chennai.

A fire broke out in the liver treatment unit of the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai. Following this, work is underway to evacuate those receiving treatment at the hospital. Reports have surfaced that the rescue operation was hampered by heavy smoke.

Most of the smoke goes from the ground floor to the top floor where the fire occurred. Steps are currently being taken to prevent the fire from spreading to other wards. The cause of the accident is not yet known for sure. Authorities say the fire may have been caused by a cylinder exploding inside the premises, or by an electrical leak.

The rest will be rescued soon. ” To be continued Medical Secretary Radhakrishnan and Medical Minister Ma Subramaniam visited the spot and took part in the rescue operation.
