For the first time: a historic ceremony in memory of the Holocaust in Auschwitz in Arabic

by time news

A ceremony in the Arabic language on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day is now being held for the first time at the Auschwitz extermination camp in Poland. The ceremony is led by the Together Together Arabs Association.

The participants in the ceremony are Israeli Muslim Arabs, Christians and Druze who first came to the place to learn about the Holocaust and make the memory of the Holocaust accessible to the Arab world. At the ceremony, a testimony translated into Arabic was read, candles were lit in memory of the six million and eulogies were delivered in Arabic.

Yosef Haddad, CEO of Together Arabs for Each Other: “We are excited to be here and hold a significant ceremony on Auschwitz soil on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day in Arabic. “We all have a duty to recognize the shocking event in human history, to learn about it and from it, and to fight at horrific phenomena from Holocaust denial to any manifestation of racism.”
