Colombo: Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has said he will not resign.
Our neighbor Sri Lanka is in deep economic crisis. Thus, the prices of essential commodities have increased. Following this, people are protesting against both President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Opposition groups called for the beleagured PM to resign.

In this context, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said: President Gotabhaya did not ask me to resign. Therefore, I will not resign as Prime Minister.
We are both working together to resolve the economic crisis. We have no differences of opinion, he said. Earlier, a Sri Lankan newspaper reported that President Gotabhaya had written a letter to all political party leaders.
It said, ‘At the request of the country’s Buddhist leaders, the Prime Minister and I have decided to resign. We will all meet on the 29th and decide on the formation of an all-party government.
