“Praying that we will stop with the shedding of blood”: Gal Gadot in a message for peace

by time news

The successful international actress Gal Gadot She received harsh criticism when she did not share on her Instagram account, which has 78 million followers from around the world, posts that support Israel on the issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during the recent difficult terrorist attacks, and kept a thunderous silence. Gadot has for years chosen for her own reasons not to express a position in favor of either side, but on the other hand she chooses to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day every year, and to share her family story, as her granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, so that the world will remember and not forget. Gadot took advantage of Holocaust Remembrance Day to share her personal family story about her grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, and to indirectly convey messages about recent events in Israel and around the world, and wrote “We will stop the bloodshed.”

Last night at the beginning of Holocaust Remembrance Day she wrote “Holocaust Remembrance Day and Heroism Day. This is my grandfather, Abraham Weiss, he was born Adolf Weiss but changed his name after the war for obvious reasons. My grandfather was born in Czechoslovakia also known as the Czech Republic. His father was drafted into the army and did not return, leaving his mother with 2 young sons, Abraham, my grandfather and Benjamin. .

“He never saw them again. He soon became a 13-year-old orphan who spent every day trying to survive, the sights he saw, the horrors he went through are inconceivable. For years he did not talk about it, only after my grandmother passed did he realize how short life is and how important it is. Tell the story so that history does not repeat itself. No one, should ever be oppressed or persecuted because of his race, religion or for any reason.

This is my perception of life. My grandfather’s legacy lives deep in my heart. He loved people, he believed in them and respected people for who they are. He came from the darkest and most oppressed place and with a seed of hope built himself a new life in Israel. I pray that we, as human beings, will unite and stop the bloodshed, everywhere and forever. I pray that our children will have a normal, positive and fruitful future where people unite, and where we let hope and love rule the world – remember and not forget. ”
