At least nine people have been killed in two bomb blasts in Afghanistan this evening. Another 13 people were injured, security officials said, according to local media.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in the Masar-i-Sharif area of ​​Balkh province. According to media reports, the two blasts were aimed at public transport.

Provincial health officials confirmed that the bodies of the dead had been identified at the hospital and that the injured were being treated. Meanwhile, no group has so far claimed responsibility for the two blasts.

Earlier in the day, a bomb blast at the Mazar-i-Sharif mosque killed at least two people. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of about 400 worshipers at the C-Dukan Mosque. It is noteworthy that the ISIS organization claimed responsibility for the April 21 bombing.
