A rising star in Indonesian jazz, Dennis Junio, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the age of 32, following a battle with a brain hemorrhage. The news of his death has sent shockwaves through the Indonesian music community, with colleagues and fans mourning the loss of a remarkably talented musician.
A Sudden Loss for Indonesian Music
The initial announcement of Junio’s passing came via social media, shared by a close colleague, Stanley Tulung. “Goodbye to the true eternity of @dennisjunio my friend,” Tulung wrote in a heartfelt post. “You are one of the talented young musicians I have ever met. Prior to his death, Tulung had publicly appealed for A+ blood donors to aid Junio, who was reportedly suffering from burst blood vessels in the brain and urgently needed seven bags of blood for a life-saving surgery. Despite the efforts to secure a donation, Junio succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Prof. Igng Ngorah (Sanglah) Hospital in Denpasar, Bali.

According to a statement released by Barry Likumahuwa representing the family, Dennis Junio breathed his last at 06:45 WITA on October 7, 2025. His body is scheduled to be transported from Bali to Jakarta on Tuesday evening, with a burial planned for Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 08:00 am at TPU Cikutra in Bandung.
