Lagos: The Central African Republic declares Bitcoin as its official currency. The Central African Republic is the second country in the world to recognize cryptocurrency as the official currency. “Bitcoin will no longer be the official currency of the country. It is hoped that by legalizing the use of bitcoin, it will be possible to attract investors,” he said.

The country is following in the footsteps of El Salvador in Central America, the first country in the world to recognize the digital currency Bitcoin as its official currency.
