The U.S. Navy has reported that two dolphins are guarding the entrance to a port in Sevastopol, Russia, near the Black Sea.
Dolphins at sea have been trained to defend the Russian navy from the Ukrainian navy. These dolphins are used to protect Russian warships and to alert their masters as soon as an enemy warship enters their territory.
While these dolphins are said to be doing their job very accurately, a new and surprising piece of information has just been released. Newsweek reports that in 1959 the US Navy similarly trained dolphins to defend warships. It is noteworthy that this is also currently going viral on the internet.
