The toddler was apparently trapped in an attic that collapsed in a fire that broke out in a four-story building on Avraham Talmud Street in the capital. Firefighters were called to the scene and took control of the blaze, the circumstances of which are unclear. However, the grandmother who was with her grandchildren said that one of the children played with matches. Another girl, who was also being searched for during the fire, was found outside the scene.
