Genevieve Passes Away Peacefully in County Mayo
A resident of Cloggernagh, islandeady, Castlebar, and formerly of collagh, Meelick, Swinford, Co. Mayo, Genevieve passed away peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar.She was 87 years old. Her passing marks a significant loss for the local community and her extended family. Genevieve’s life ended peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by loved ones.
Genevieve’s life was deeply interwoven with the fabric of County Mayo, having strong ties to both Islandeady and Swinford. She was a dedicated member of the local community, known for her kindness and willingness to help others. She was predeceased by her husband, John, and her parents, James and Kate, as well as her sister, Mary.
She is fondly remembered by her brother, Pradaig, and sisters Angela and Kathleen, along with her brother-in-law, sister-in-law, numerous nephews and nieces, and a wide circle of relatives, neighbours, and friends. The outpouring of support reflects the impact she had on those around her. Genevieve was a beloved aunt and friend, always offering a warm welcome and a listening ear.
A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Luke’s Church, Meelick on Tuesday, October 14th at 12 noon, followed by burial in Meelick Cemetery. This service will provide an chance for the community to gather and celebrate Genevieve’s life and legacy. The family welcomes those who wish to pay their respects and remember Genevieve.
