Thiruvananthapuram: The next ten days are sports days for Kerala. The first Kerala Games will kick off tomorrow with 7000 athletes from 14 districts lining up to discover new speeds, heights and distances.
The Games will be organized by the Kerala Olympic Association at 5.30 pm tomorrow at the University Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. Abdurrahman will inaugurate. Kerala Olympic Association President V.S. Sunil Kumar will preside over the function. Joy IAS will deliver the keynote address.
Boxer Mary Kom, recipient of the Kerala Olympic Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award Balagopal Award and Transport Minister Antony Raju will present the citation. Medal winners at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, P.R. Sreejesh, Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Bajrang Poonia will be honored at the function.

Malayalee Olympians Sajan Prakash and KT Irfan and Alex Antony are MPs. Jabir will also receive the honor. Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan will present.
The inaugural function will be preceded by a colorful rally. The rally will start at 4.30 pm from the Central Stadium. Athletes, various association officials and sports enthusiasts will be part of the rally. The rally will conclude at the University Stadium.
Ministers V. Sivankutty, G.R. Anil, MLAs Kadakampally Surendran and VK. Prashanth, Secretary General of the Olympic Association; Rajeev, Senior Vice President, Olympic Association; Mohandas, Kerala State Sports Council President Merzikuttan, Olympic Association Treasurer MR. Ranjith, Sai LNCP Principal Dr.G. Kishore, Dhyanchand Award winner, KC Lekha, CIAL MDS. Suhas IAS, Olympic Association Vice President S.A.N. Raghu Chandran Nair, Thiruvananthapuram District Olympic Association President KS Balagopal, District Sports Council President S.S. Sudheer, Arjuna Award winner Padmini Thomas, Dr. Viju Jacob, Premkumar, M.K. Biju and Harikumar will also attend the inauguration function.
The first Kerala Games will feature 24 events. University Stadium, Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, Pirappankode Swimming Pool, Central Stadium, Thaikad Police Ground, Attingal Sreepadam Stadium, Jimmy George Indoor Stadium, Vattiyoorkavu Shooting Range, Trivandrum Tennis Club, YMCA, YMCA The competitions will be held in Vadakara.
