Produced by Full On Studios and directed by Mahesh Vettiar and starring Manju Warrier and Saubin Shahir in the lead roles, the film has been renamed as ‘Vellaripattanam’. The movie was announced as ‘Vellarikapatnam’. The name change is due to the censorship of another image of the same name. The first look poster and teaser of ‘Vellaripattanam’ will be released soon.

In Kerala, the Film Chamber has the power to issue permits for film production and title registration. Accordingly, the name ‘Vellarikkapatnam’ was registered on November 5, 2019 at the Full On Studios Film Chamber. At the direction of the Chamber, Full On Studios applied for registration, including the license of Mr. Thomas Berley, producer and director of the 1985 film of the same name. All these documents are still in the Film Chamber. When the name of Full On Studios was registered and Mr. The Film Chamber records attest to the existence of Thomas Berley’s letter. The name ‘Vellarikkapatnam’ was not registered with the Film Chamber or the South Indian Film Chamber when Full On Studios applied for the title. That’s why the name was given to Fullone Studios.
In the light of these facts, another Censor Board Certificate was obtained from Kerala under the name of ‘Vellarikkapattanam’ on the strength of registration with an organization in Tamil Nadu. He is also the director of the film and has been spreading slander against our main actors Manju Warrier and Saubin Shahir on social media and some YouTube channels and spreading untruths about our film. This is still going on. The cast of a film has nothing to do with the registration of its name. Yet the above director is trying to make them personal. We suspect that there is a conspiracy behind this.
Fullone Studios is a banner that has already won the admiration and credibility of the audience through movies like action hero Biju, Alamaara, Mohanlal and Kung Fu Master. We are moving forward in compliance with all the requirements of the Film Chamber for Film Production in Kerala. The official registration certificate of the Film Chamber titled ‘Vellarikapatnam’ is still with Full Onstudios. We still believe that the Film Chamber is the official institution for title registration of films in Kerala. However, we are preparing for the name change so that the release of our film is not dragged into unnecessary controversy and its actors are no longer attacked by lies in the community.
