Men’s Tennis Dominates ITA Cup, Advances to Semifinals

A stellar performance across both singles and doubles competition propelled the team to a 4-0 record at the ITA Cup on Friday, setting the stage for semifinal matches on Saturday.

Singles Competition: Feng and Kamenev Shine

Ruilin Feng, a sophomore, delivered a commanding performance in singles play, defeating mark Kneiss of Bowdoin College in straight sets. This victory advances Feng to the semifinal round, where he will face Kael Shalin Shah of Denison University at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

In the singles consolation draw, senior Dean kamenev also secured a straight-sets win, besting Ivan Kisic of Ithaca College. Kamenev’s next challenge will be against Andreas Sillaste of Amherst College,also scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Despite dropping the first set 6-1, Karthik and Johnstone demonstrated remarkable composure, rallying to win the second set 6-3. The match culminated in a thrilling tiebreak set, which the duo ultimately won 10-4, earning them a spot in tomorrow’s semifinal. They will compete against Sebastian Mendoza and Edward Wang of Babson College.
