Driving Software Growth and DevSecOps Implementation

As the Lead Software Engineer, the individual will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to both internal and supplier software development teams. The role demands a proactive approach to analyzing customer requirements, breaking them down into manageable tasks, and strategically planning programme increments for the development team.

  • Leading the review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into initial software designs.
  • Coordinating the development,maintenance,enhancement,and optimization of software products for systems integration.
  • Developing, documenting, and maintaining software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
  • Debugging and resolving software issues to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Researching and implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Establishing and improving software processes, tools, and key performance metrics.
  • Managing software research and development projects and providing expert consultation on software domains.
  • Leading software project management and supplier management functions.
  • Evaluating team and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.
  • Overseeing the design, development, testing, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout its lifecycle, adhering to industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Addressing user inquiries,troubleshooting technical issues,and analyzing user feedback.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must possess at least five years of experience in full-cycle software engineering, demonstrating proficiency across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). A proven track record of leading diverse software teams for a minimum of five years is also required. Furthermore, the role necessitates five or more years of experience in Object-Oriented programming languages and agile software development environments.

While not mandatory, a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science is preferred. Ideal candidates will also demonstrate knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems, and networks, with the ability to build, integrate, and troubleshoot software components.

Crucially, applicants must be able to obtain a U.S. security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship. A Top Secret/SCI Clearance might potentially be required post-start. Boeing operates as a Drug-Free Workplace, with post-offer applicants subject to testing.
