Patrick Fiori Eyes Eurovision Return – This Time Representing Armenia
A surprising announcement from French singer Patrick Fiori has ignited excitement among Eurovision fans: he is actively pursuing the opportunity to represent Armenia in the 2027 competition. The revelation, made during an appearance on the French television program What an Era! on Saturday, October 18, 2025, marks a potential full-circle moment for the artist who previously represented France in 1993.
Fiori, known for his Corsican heritage and recent album Middle Middle Course 3, frequently speaks of his Armenian roots, stemming from his father’s lineage. While discussing his connection to Armenia with fellow guest Benjamin Biolay, Fiori unveiled his ambition. “I will represent Armenia at the big Eurovision song contest,” he stated, according to reports.
The singer clarified that discussions are already underway with Armenian officials. “In principle, it went like this,” he confided, adding, “But is that true? Is that true?” He affirmed his commitment with a nod, explaining, “In any case, I left for, I’m seeing the people who take care of that. In principle in 2027 this will happen.” Fiori playfully acknowledged his previous tributes to his maternal side through his music, stating, “Mom, it’s okay,” referencing his song Mama Corsica and subsequent albums. However, he emphasized his desire to honor his paternal heritage, declaring, “But for the beautiful blue eyes of Jacques Chouchayan [his father], I’m going to try to do that.”
This isn’t the first time Fiori has publicly expressed interest in representing Armenia at Eurovision. In February 2025, during appearances on the RFM radio show 1 hour with and Europe 1’s Culture Media, he openly discussed the possibility. “Yes, with great pleasure,” he responded when asked about representing Armenia. He acknowledged the competitive selection process, stating, “I’m thinking about it, but will they want me? Will they accept me? There is a competition to pass.” He also envisioned a potential duet with an Armenian artist, adding, “Armenia will be represented by artists that we don’t yet know today. But for next year, with great pleasure. I’m up for it, but not alone, in a duo with an Armenian artist that I have in my head.”
Fiori’s previous Eurovision experience saw him achieve a respectable fourth-place finish for France in 1993 with Mama Corsica. A return to the contest, this time representing Armenia, would undoubtedly be a poignant moment for the singer and a significant event for both nations.
