At the moment of maximum coverage, the Sun will be obscured by about 40% and the best observation point will be there Patagonia. The eclipse will occur almost at sunset, at 17.41 (Buenos Aires time), when in Italy it will be 22.41.


The next eclipses

The next partial solar eclipse scheduled for 25 October and will also be visible in Italy. At the latitude of Milan, the maximum phase will be at 12.13, but the Sun will be obscured by the Moon for only 27%, therefore without adequate eye protection measures, you risk serious damage to your eyes by looking directly at the star. The darkening of our satellite will in fact begin at 3.32 at night with a maximum peak at 5.50 when the Moon will take on the dark red color typical of total eclipses. But it will not last long: only 4 minutes, then it will set below the horizon in the South-West. To see it you will therefore have to go to an elevated place or an area free from constructions.
