Police initiated searches at multiple locations in Orange on Thursday, July 11, 2024.Officers arrived at a residence on McLachlan Street around 4:50 p.m. when the suspect allegedly fled over a back fence and entered an underground drain near Byng Street. The initial attempt to locate the man quickly evolved into a more complex operation due to his decision to conceal himself within the drainage system.
The suspect remained concealed within the storm drain for several hours. At approximately 7:30 p.m., officers successfully located the man using a drain inspection camera. He was subsequently taken into custody and assessed by paramedics before being transported to Orange Police Station, where the warrant was executed. A 20-year-old woman was also arrested at the McLachlan Street home.
