Requtech,a Swedish satellite communications innovator,has announced a extensive Satcom hub retrofit program designed to modernize existing infrastructure.The initiative comes alongside a meaningful investment from Swedish defense technology company Evallic,signaling a strong vote of confidence in Requtech’s vision and capabilities.
from Antenna Design to Full-Scale Infrastructure Solutions
Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Linköping, Sweden – a city renowned as the “aviation and space capital” – Requtech initially set out to disrupt the satellite communication industry. The company’s core beliefs, built on the pillars of research, quality, and technology, has propelled its evolution from a specialized antenna design house to a leading provider of Satcom services. Requtech now supports a diverse range of orbital constellations, including geostationary, low-Earth, and mid-Earth orbits.
Since its inception, Requtech has developed over 100 Satcom systems, deployed in more then 40 countries and serving 60 clients. The company’s product portfolio has expanded beyond custom parabolic antennas to include phased array and flyaway terminals, optimized for modern satellite networks.
Ka-Band Upgrade to Lead the Retrofit Effort
The retrofit program will commence with a full Ka-band upgrade at a Satcom hub located in a nato contry, undertaken in close collaboration with a leading hub operator. This initial phase encompasses the complete design, build, and installation of the radio frequency (RF) chain, including the feeder, antenna horn, and all associated components. Requtech emphasizes a commitment to “seamless” integration and optimized performance throughout the entire process.

Requtech is actively seeking partnerships with hub providers, value-added resellers, and operators, emphasizing a collaborative approach. “Our goal is not to compete, but to complement, bringing deep technical expertise and a spirit of cooperation to every project,” Sotoudeh added.
Expanding to Ku-Band and Leveraging New Investment
Following the Ka-band deployment, the company plans to extend its retrofit services to Ku-band hubs, utilizing the same proven methodology to deliver high-throughput connectivity.
The launch of the retrofit program coincides with a recent investment from Evallic, a Swedish defence technology company. This investment marks Evallic’s entry into the Satcom market, which the company identifies as critical for secure communication in defence, goverment, and critical infrastructure. Evallic’s backing provides Requtech with increased scale and resources.
Evallic currently serves customers in over 30 countries and maintains operational deployments in more than 95% of Nato member states, offering systems designed to enhance situational awareness, decision-making, and operational effectiveness. this synergy positions Requtech to capitalize on the growing demand for resilient and scalable Satcom infrastructure.
